The cosplay at D23 was insane! Here’s our photo gallery

PHOTOS BY CHRISTINE SIMON

We all know cosplayers are the most ingenious fans in all of geekdom. Their creativity knows no bounds, their skills are legend, and they are always the highlight of any convention.

However, we have to say, the cosplayers at the D23 Expo last weekend took their art to a whole new, mind-blowing level. We’re not exaggerating when we say this was some of the best cosplay we’ve every seen.

So, even though most of the buzz about D23 has revolved around epic announcements regarding new Star Wars and Marvel developments — like Disney+, The Mandalorian, Ewan McGregor’s return as Obi-Wan Kenobi, the new Avengers Campus, etc. — it’s the creations of cunning cosplayers that made the biggest impression upon our memories.

Disney/animation enthusiast and photographer Christine Simon vibrantly captured some of the best cosplay at the Anaheim Convention Center. You can enjoy her photos from the expo below.

We’ll have more cosplay photos by Christine, as well as some other fun visual details from  D23, in Part 2 of our Photo Gallery, coming soon!
